Bethell Forbes
Bethell joins FJI as a paralegal on March 10.
Except for a brief period at a law firm as a corporate paralegal, she has spent her career working in the non-profit law sector serving as an administrative professional and paralegal providing comprehensive support to legal teams in busy legal office environments.
She previously worked at FJI as a project assistant helping to administer the Volunteer Lawyers’ Project for the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The Project’s goal was to screen pro se civil cases filed in the Southern District and refer cases found eligible for services to volunteer attorneys. The Project ran from 1993 to 2014 and was overseen by FJI’s former executive director, the late Randall Berg.
Most recently, she worked as a senior supervising office administrator with the Southern Poverty Law Center providing critical administrative and paralegal support for the Miami regional office handling civil rights cases.
She is looking forward to returning to FJI and continuing to be involved with cases that ensure meaningful access to justice to those who need legal representation but cannot afford it.
