Florida Justice Institute is Second Runner-Up of the 2020 Goldstein-Van Nortwick Award for Excellence

On April 7, 2020, the Florida Bar Foundation announced that the Florida Justice Institute is Second Runner-Up of the 2020 Goldstein-Van Nortwick Award for its exceptional legal advocacy for the Hepatitis C Class Action litigation. A special selection committee was created to review, score, and select the award winners. This year’s Goldstein-Van Nortwick selection committee included: Maria Henderson (chair), Maria C. Gonzalez, Juliette Lippman, Roberto R. Pardo, Stephen R. Senn, and the Honorable Suzanne Van Wyk. The Foundation’s Board of Directors ratified the committee’s selection at its March 27, 2020 meeting.

FJI will also receive a grant of $5,000 to be utilized for support of the provision of legal assistance to the poor. In addition to the program award, FJI will receive a $1,000 training scholarship for the benefit of the individual staff person(s) primarily responsible for the project. The scholarship can be used for training fees, travel, lodging, meals, and other incidental expenses in connection with the training.
